I am sitting here tonight enjoying a glass of 2020 Cab Sauvignon and trying to decide which is the best, the 2020 vintage or the 2022 vintage. Unfortunately, unless I find one tucked away somewhere that I FORGOT ABOUT, this is the last bottle of the 2020 vintage. If any of you have it in your cellars, hang on to it and save it for a quiet personal time with special friends or a special meal to enjoy it. It will continue to improve!

Now as to the 1st barrel of the 2022 vintage bottled today and yielding 25 cases after six months in an Eastern European Oak Barrel, I am having a difficult time discerning if I like the 2020 or the 2022 best. The 2020 does have the bottle age advantage. I will be so bold as to predict that the 2022 will overtake the 2020 as it bottle ages, and the good news is that we have three more of those barrels.

The remaining Seven Barrels include four American Oak and three Appalachian Oak. We will be releasing these as they mature and may be blending from different barrels to achieve greater complexity and structure.

We want to Thank all our Club Member Volunteers and team members for a great bottling session due to their hard work and also the clean up crew. We had a great lunch and a great time! Special thanks to Janie and Al Christ and Kenya Cook.

Barrel No.1 of the 2022 vintage is now on the shelf and available for tasting and purchase.
