Anyone who has ever attempted the age old Profession of farming is aware of how fast the land can reclaim itself to its natural condition with the weeds saplings and native grasses encroaching on cleared fields for hay, vineyards and orchards. We have been working over the last couple of years to reclaim and clean up some areas of the farm that since our tenure here have become a bit unruly and out of shape. All of this work requires equipment such as brush cutters, bush hogs, tractors, stump and root cutters and more. Then there is the required labor to run the equipment, load, pile and burn the brush, grade and till the land, plant cover crop such as grass and clover and on it goes and never ends.
It may sound like we are complaining but we are not. We have learned quite a bit over the last 20 years of our farming experience, we are catching up and managing better than in the past. We hope you can see it when you visit us to try our wines.
