Well it has been a busy summer so far this year. Even with the COVID 19 Pandemic we have seen steady to increasing sales. We have increased our fermentation capacity by adding a new 527 Gallon red wine fermentation tank. We are still awaiting the arrival of a new crusher/destemmer which will improve our must and juice quality by removing a much higher percentage of stems and MOG. We have managed to get through the month of July with very little rain or morning fogs. The hot dry weather has been good for the development of this years vintage due to very little disease pressure.
We have planted two new grape varieties in support of producing a Signature Tennessee Dry White Wine along with two other growers in the state. Our hope is that these disease resistant varietals will produce consistent high quality fruit year after year for Tennessee wineries.
We have also pulled out five rows of Cabernet Sauvignon and replaced it with Riesling to increase our production of wine from this popular German varietal. This increased production we hope will allow us to return to producing a dry style as well as a semi-sweet and of course more Kate.
We have a multi-year project in progress that includes renewing cordons, reducing the number of vines, and extending cordons. This will help reduce canopy vigor, and provide a better balance of wood, canopy, and root resulting in the production of higher quality fruit.
Are your wines available to purchase and have shipped without coming to the winery?
Sorry to be so late in answering but the answer is no we do not ship. We have a lot of outdoor space to enjoy and we can make you comfortable while doing a tasting and deciding on your purchases.
